About Me My name is Amelia Caldwell, I'm 15 years old and have been around goats for nearly six years now. I live in Rogue River, Oregon, with my mom, dad, and much older sister Phoebe. I own half the herd of our Nigerians, and I love being involved with the farm. It's allot of fun getting to know the goats, and working with them. I've been homeschooled for almost all of my life (since fourth grade) and I love it. You couldn't pay me to go to high school :) I don the evening milking on the farm, and help out with allot of the other chores. But I'm also highly interested in Graphics Design, Reading, Writing, as well as Young Marines, 4-H, and Text Role Playing. I've been designing graphics for almost five years now, and I really enjoy it. It's one of my favorite things to do. The program that I use is called GIMP, and it's a really great program in my opinion. The main thing that I like to do, is working with animals. I especially like to take pictures of horses, cut them out of their original background, put them on a new background. And try to make them look like they were there originally. Most of the work I do is just for fun, and are often requests that people give me on the text role play sites that I'm on. Here are a few examples of my work : (the third one is actually my horse, Willow) And I also did the banner (the image at the top of the page) using picture of a couple of our goats. In the images that I have put up, none of the horses we're in the background to begin with, on all of them I have re-drawn in the hairs along the edges on the manes and tails, and on most of them added shadows, and fog as well as other things to make the image seem more realistic. On four of the images, I altered the markings on the horses as well. I hope to continue with my Graphics design for a long time, and maybe even turn it into a business someday. Another thing I like to do, is draw. Usual just simple pencil drawings. It's kind of weird, but I can draw realistic things fairly well, but can't draw cartoons to save my life. Which makes no sense what so ever, considering cartoons are so simple. But I guess that's just how I am :) I love to draw dragons, big cats, and other kinds of fantasy creatures. I almost never color my drawings, I just like doing the outlines and shading. Whenever my best friend Kalee and I are at a goat show together, we have kind of made it traditional for me to draw her feet. Or her ear, or her making a funny face. I have no idea why, but it's kind of fun xD We are both pretty darn weird, so we do all sorts of weird things together. One of my most FAVORITE things to do, is read. I love reading, love love love love love it. I've always been a big reader, ever since I first learned how to at age four, I've been reading. My favorite books are usually fantasy, the more dragons the better. I'm a dragon freak -teehee- anything with dragons in it, and I nearly always love it. A few of my favorite books are.. Eragon/Eldest/Brisngr-By Christopher Paolini , Twilight/New Moon/Eclispe/Breaking Dawn-By Stephenie Meyer , The Host-By Stepheni Meyer , A Great and Terrible Beauty/Rebel Angels/A Sweet Far Thing-By Libba Bray , The Harry Potter Books-By J.K. Rowling, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy-By J.R.R Tolkien , The Warriors Series-By Erin Hunter , Tricksters Choice/Tricksters Queen-By Tamora Pierce , and The Dragonriders of Pern Series-By Anne McCaffrey. As you can see, I LOVE reading. I'm always on the hunt for new books to read. Another thing I really enjoy doing with my spare time is text role playing online. The style of role-playing that I like, is where there are sites centered around something you like. Say in my case, Dragons. Then you join the site, and create a character. When you make your character, you get to decide everything about them. What they look like, their personality, their name and their history. On the site, there are other people who have also joined, and made their own characters. And with them, you make posts on the site, saying what your character is doing, saying, and thinking by typing it all out. And then the people reply with their character in type. And it goes on and on! Allot of the sites have plots, that you follow with your characters. And it can get realllyyy fun. And average role play post from a decent player is usually around 1000 words. Though I've role-played with some really fantastic players, who type 4000 words per post! That's more than twice the amount of words on this page alone! I've been role playing for almost four years, and It's one of my obsessions for sure. I love role playing Wild Horses, Cats, Dragons, and some times I like to join sites centered around the Harry Potter books, The Inheritance Cycle, or other unique sites for fantasy animals. I am also in 4-H. My mom and I run a small animal 4-H club called Evans Valley Feathers and Fur. Our club does rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens. In 4-H, I do all three of those projects. For chickens, I have seven Old English Game bantams. Though my favorite is called Lit'lin. She's super friendly, and is the kind of chicken that if you go into their pen, she will fly up onto your shoulder, and go to sleep there. She's really cuddly, and trusting too. She will let me hold her without pinning her wings down, flip her upside down (still without holding her wings down) and set her on the palm of my hand. And she just sits there! Most of the time she goes to sleep, or looks kind of dead just sitting there. But she's a hoot, and all of my chickens have been a blast to work with. For Guinea Pigs, I have two Peruvian boars name Elvis and Leroy. The Peruvian breed of Guinea Pigs is one of the breeds that grows really long hair. Their hair can get over a foot long! Right now, my two guinea pigs are not full grown, so their fur just kind of sticks out at odd angles and looks weird. But once they are full grown, you will hardly be able to tell there is even a guinea pig under all that fur! My mom has decided that they like like slippers, because they are so blocky and it's already hard to see their faces under all that fur. For rabbits, I raise Netherland Dwarfs. They are the smallest breed of rabbits, with a weight limit of 2 and a half pounds. Right now, I only have four. Fred, my Siamese Sable buck,Wilma my Siamese Sable doe, Cottonball my Himalayan buck, and Water Lily my tortoiseshell doe. I can't wait for next month, because Water Lily is due to have her first liter of babies, and Wilma due to have her second (Cottonball was from her first). I absolutely adore my rabbits, they are so easy to handle, and despite what people say about rabbits not being smart, I beg to differ. Mine never cease to amaze me with what they will do next. And they are without a doubt my favorite project in 4-H. Well, hope you feel like you know me a little better now! Feel free to email me, I love to answer questions and to meet new people. If you want to contact me, you can do so with... Email: lacrymosafan@yahoo.com AIM: xXx Silly xD Phone: (541)582-8883 And here is just a little blurb on a recent conversation between my best friend, myself, and her little brother who is constantly bugging us. Just thought you might want to see a conversation that we would consider "normal". Kalee: Hi. Me: Hiiiii Kalee: Jacob says get a life. Me: Ok! Kalee: (Shouts to little brother) Mia says ok! Me: You know what? I think K-Mart has them half off. Would he like me to get one for him too? Kalee:(Shouts to little brother) Do you want Mia to get one for you too? Jacob (Shouting in the background) : Wait, what? The board game Life? Kalee: -sighs impatiently- Me: And actual life! Kalee: Mia says your an idiot! Jacob (Shouting in the background): You suck! Kalee: Riiiigggghhhht. Me: -rollsaroundonthefloorlaughing-
